The challenge was to raise awareness for Cricket Manager Pro 2022 from the ground up and build a platform for the game to have a successful test launch.
The goal was to raise awareness for the game from both a press and player base perspective. The initial key landmark was the test launch for the game in South Africa.
The Game Marketer highlighted key areas to work on for this task, namely, community building and management, paid media strategy, PR strategy and social media strategy.
Social Media & Community Management
The Game Marketer also has provided key feedback and strategy surrounding the social media activities of Wicket Gaming and their Cricket Manager Pro 2022 social media accounts. TGM has analysed social activity and provided guidance on how to manufacture engagement across socials and how best to utilise social media as a marketing tool.
A key area for this partnership was community building and community management. The Game Marketer built a Discord server for Cricket Manager Pro 2022 and provided a key strategy on how to get people into the Discord server and how to interact with the community, with a focus on boosting engagement within the server. In order to raise awareness for the new Discord server a paid media plan was devised. By creating lookalike audiences and targeting key areas The Game Marketer was able to ensure that the Discord gained a satisfactory number of members. This was also amplified through social media posts and through PR campaigns.
The Game Marketer also provided a key strategy around posting on the Discord server and how to interact with the community, running events and activities on the server in order to boost engagement.
PR & Paid Media Campaign
The Game Marketer has carried out PR campaigns for the game, focussing on milestones and events and how best to leverage them in PR conversations. The Game Marketer was able to gain coverage from major gaming industry outlets. The PR campaigns have served to raise awareness for the game in the wider gaming sphere. The Game Marketer has also provided strategic planning for press campaigns for the upcoming global launch and will continue to carry out outreach campaigns for the title.
As mentioned above paid media was a key tool that was used by The Game Marketer in building out the community on Discord. Paid Media has also been a key tool to help to raise awareness for the title and helped to acquire beta testers for the test launch of the game. TGM provided a fully formed paid media campaign for the test activation, carrying out campaigns in relevant locations for the launch.
TGM has also provided a fully formed paid media strategy for the global launch of the game, including budgets and key KPIs to assist with tracking performance.
By taking these key aspects of marketing and harmonising them to support one another, The Game Marketer has been able to assist in making the test launch a success, allowing Wicket Gaming AB to harvest key data for the development of their game. The Game Marketer will continue to work with Wicket Gaming on Cricket Manager Pro 2022, with the global launch coming this year.
